Ritual: Containment

There is an established sequence of events in a Sesame session. This sequence forms the ritual of beginning, middle and end and acts as a container for whatever therapeutic work takes place. Ritualistic structures hold at a deep level and remind us where we are in the healing process - especially when what is being expressed feels overwhelming. At a psychological level, the use of ritual mirrors the way in which the human psyche reveals and expresses itself.

See Ritual: Session structure for more about session structure.
